any paint shop should be able to mix up the colour code. new orleans blue is 599/A to save you searching around your car for it.
as for the service, that's fair enough, like i say,i have been wrong once before! :D

I admire your patient and persistant attitude, if it were me i would have got so wound up with it all. I am doing now and it isnt me that is dealing with it! I guess i know the root of the problem and could probably rememdy it all so so easily. it's fustrating really!

10 dealers! We only have the single dealer in Perth. Unfortunately I have no idea what they are like.

Yep got the colour code from the bonnet this morning, but thanks anyway :)

Well, patience has now ran out. Once I get them to patch the hatchlid up, NEVER again will I go back.

Looking back on these posts, I might as well rename the title to something like 'The annoying guy from Oz and his stupid GP' :rolleyes:

I'm with you on that one, they sound bloody useless. You've been more than patient enough with them.

You have no idea how helpful your experiences have been for me and every other person that stumbles across this thread :)

I have yet another question if you don't mind...:D

Aside from the dealer and the various problems you've had with the car, is the car any good? / do you like it?

No, don't mind at all :)

Well Yes is the short answer. Aside from those relatively minor issues, its quite fun to drive, fuel economy isn't too bad, and best of all its not an everyone-has-one type of car. My advice, if you're still interested in getting a GP, is to wait. Wait until Fiat and their dealers can get their act together (in this country anyway) to a level where they're experienced enough to deal with these issues. The one big mistake I made was jumping into it too early, but then again when I sold my old car 6 months ago to buy another one both my gf and I fell in love with it as soon as we saw it. Despite all that we've been through, we still love it as if it was our son (yeh sad I know, but hey we can't afford to have kids yet :D).

Well I finally paid a visit to the dealer today to look at a GP Sport, the salesman turned out to be a she :p

They were actually renovating the place so I though nobody was there at first, but Peter Donnelly (the owner of this and many other dealers) was actually there and went and got the lady for us so that was a bit of a coincidence. Seemed like a nice bloke.

She was quite helpful, although a bit lacking in knowledge as I expected. I asked if anyone has had any issues with the car and her response was "No, not really only a few very small..." and then I finished her sentence with "Niggles" and that seemed to be the word she was looking for. Plainly I think she meant "Nothing that can't be fixed" :rolleyes:

Second, I asked about warranty and servicing costs etc.
- 3 year warranty + another 3 year dealer warranty if you keep servicing with them.
- Services are every 20,000km at around $400-500 which I thought would be very suitable for me.

Third, I asked about the spare wheel and if a full size alloy would fit. At first she said it was unlikely and that it's not really necessary because punctures don't occur that often blah blah, but I said I'd really rather a spare wheel because of the distance I travel so she's going to find out more for me :)

Lastly, I had her take a look at my car for a trade-in valuation. She was impressed with how clean it was :cool:. I will supposedly get a call back tomorrow with the result and the rest of the info I requested.

So all in all I think it went pretty well, lets see what she comes up with tomorrow ;)

sounds like quite a successful reccy then really!
as for the full size spare, it can be ordered but it is a factory order, unless you want to pay full whack for the single alloy (think it's about NZ$450+ tyre)

look forward to hearing the final result.

I'm also intrigued by the service intervals.....
would you mind asking her tomorrow about the 6 month thing, see what response you get? cheers

I read in the other thread that the 17" will fit, that's a good sign even if it does make a bit of a lump in the carpet. Bit expensive though, I could get a couple of other options for that. Do you know any details on the centre armrest and/or alloy pedals? Thanks.

That's what I forgot to ask her, I'll hopefully remember about the 6 month thing tomorrow :)

The centre arm rest would I good. From what I have heard, it can open up for additional storage. One of the problems I have with the GP is the lack of interior storage space, so it would be handy.

haha funny you should mention the alloy pedal thing.
I was trying to get some to fit a sport yesterday and they do not go on for love nor money! apparently it is a left hand drive option only (how the pedals differ is beyond me!!!)
as for the armrest, yes you can get it, but be prepared to wait 6 month + for the privilege! :(

as for the spare, what i've done is take out the space saver from a 1.9 5 door and put it in the back of the sport, the 5 door then gets the tyre repair (the next customer usually takes it, only the odd one of two that dont) and the sport customer who requested the tyre gets that and is happy.
easy, if not a bit cheeky! :D

Well that's not very good...they might fit if you reverse the pedal order? :p
On Fiat's site, the picture is of a right hand drive model..could be photo shopped or something.

Is it a space saver in the 5 door? I don't know if your model is any different but the brochure says it's a 15" steel. Anyway, I think I'd be happy with that as well. Any tire is better than no tire. Same with the armrest, I'll be happy knowing that we can get it at least.

While you're at it if you don't mind... I'd definitely want body side mouldings, can you order the car with them on or are they a separate option?
