Haha, I love Ronnie Pickering.
One of the best ever dash (helmet) cam videos!
I did stop, and so did the other fella. He sped off though once I got out before I could give him his education!

I'm a scooter rider too, some dick swerved at me the other week as 2 lanes merge to 1. Luckily my wife was on board to reign me in as he would have had the Ronnie treatment!

This video (not mine) is particularly bad, and just goes to show though that you don't know who the hell you may be dealing with, so my wife is right to reign me in.

It made the national news as lorry repeatedly hits car on M1, terror lorry, etc

Thats totally barbaric!!

Is that attempted murder? / Driving without due care and attention / Causing distress

he needs banning - and the book throwing at him.....

If that was me - i'd follow him till the rozzers were behind me.... wonder if he was an agency driver or a company driver?

It's worth noting that the car driver sells dashcams for a living, and judging by his other YouTube videos, he seems to like driving like a **** to cause a reaction which he then posts on his channel...

He calls himself PoliceWitness, which coincidentally is also the name of his dashcam business...

Totally agree with you there! Given that lorries are restricted it would appear that the 'victim' is doing about 50mph in the centre lane, you don't know how much had gone on before this video and all the driver needed to do was go faster than 65mph and the Lorry would have disappeared in his mirrors, I'd say there's lots of provocation went on before the start of the video.

Lots and lots. All he had to do was get up to 56 in a timely manner which would put some distance between him and the hgv as they come out of the 50 zone.

He put a statement about this clip on his website (policewitless). He said that they had just come out of the 50 zone.
I happened to be out that way at the end of October, the speed restrictions end at the on ramp of J16. Looking at the gps on the clip, this action takes place less than a mile before J15A. According to Google, the gps mark is 2.5miles from the end of the 50 zone - so he's had almost 3 minutes to accellerate up to normal motorway speeds yet is clearly dawdling along in lane 2. Even if the hgv was right on his bumper through the 50s, there is no way on earth that a UK hgv could accellerate as fast, so even putting his foot down to get to 56 would leave the hgv behind.
The fact that a vehicle capable of only doing 56mph is able to catch up so quickly tells us how slow this guy was going.

In the clip, he states how everyone behind can see the danger so backs off. Are they backing off or is he accellerating to 'pin' the hgv in lane 3?

Notice how he 'conveniently omits the speed display from that clip?

He also claims that, with the hgv in lane 1, he has nowhere to go & yet the hgv in lane 1 is falling behind even as this hgv is coming past!

The hgv driver was given the boot for this, but seeing this clip, I wonder if his insurance will produce a counter claim - dawdling in lane 2 at far less than 56mph, refusing to move over even though lane 1 is obviously clear, using your hazard warning lights when there clearly was no hazard...
Since he was so obviously capable of catching up, and overtaking the hgv, there was absolutely nothing wrong with his vehicle.

He claims to have been in fear for his life (and talks about what might have been if he'd had kids in the car, pregnant wife, granny, the St. winifred's school choir & uncle Tom Cobley & all) yet manages to not only catch up but overtake (or did he undertake?), get back into lane 1 and allow the driver to do it all over again some 14 minutes later!

Of course, since this guy uses 'police' style graphics on his website & makes a big deal of the fact that he was a Police and Crime Commissioner (candidate) as well as a special constable, one might be thinking this guy is as honest as a day is long, however, he was a special - not a proper copper just a volunteer.
He was PCC candidate. That's like me standing outside the auditions for X factor then claiming to be a rock star!
He also has other clips on YT where he deliberately drives like a tool so as to put blame onto other drivers.
He also claimed he was a skeet shooting champion - would you call 9th place "champion"?
He claims some sort of special relationship with the police - yeah, he's constantly bombarding them with YT clips & been lucky that one or two have been followed up.

There was also a tweet saying "the RAC & IAM heads of external affairs say you have NO RIGHT to associate your company with them"
I wonder why?

Don't get these crossing the road in the UK!

Wow!

Don't know what speed he was doing (possibly blurred out???), but I'm honestly surprised there wasn't more of a response. I feel like SOME braking should've happened.

I've knocked a fox down (still feel awful a year later), and I saw it with enough time to brake, and that kinda ran into the road. Alligator was still.
Hefty damage though!

Doing 70 apparently. TBH at that speed thinking distance is quite far.

And not a thought for the poor alligator!

Mind you, I'm not so sure about getting out in the dark - there could be more about lol

True that. I'd also be too scared it wasn't dead or something. Would be pretty hacked off gator!

I have some video of someone trying to overtake the car in front of me and the car then speeding up and being a bit useless.
I could upload it but I was singing at the time, so you'll have to just take my word for what a stupid thing it was.

Problem is braking hard = risk of loosing control + more damage as the front end dips lower under braking....

Still wonder if you have to ring your mate to pick up the body so you can make some handbags / wallets out of its remains

There seem to be a number of drivers that travel at 45mph regardless of road and limits.
I've encountered a number on A roads where visibility etc is good but then when entering a village etc continue at 45 in the 30 limit.

Can't figure them out at all.
