Yesterday was a bad day, and nearly ended a lot worse!

I think both myself and the lorry driver learnt from this little event. I was to busy reading road signs in an unfamiliar place that I didn't notice him indicating (yes I know, very apparent in the video) and he was obviously in the wrong lane (check road markings before entering roundabout) and decided that because he was indicating it was ok to do as he pleased.

I think they were just in the wrong lane. Some people will argue they needed that lane to keep the trailer off the roundabout, I think they'd have made it fine in the correct lane. The car in front of you had a lucky miss too! If the truck needed more room to swing the trailer they should have waited for a gap in traffic and straddled two lanes..... Div in the wrong lane using the size to bully their way across the roundabout. Did you get the reg?

No, he stopped momentarily to empty some more bins then carried on.
Dom

Banged to rights then.

We have just driven to Cornwall and back and lost count of the number of HGV drivers we saw on their phones making calls or even worse texting whilst booling along.

A shame we didn't get any on film.

Nope I didn't get the reg, I'm sure sainsburys could track driver down if needed.

There's loads of other vids on that guy's channel, all "pre range rover" stuff - yet none of it shows the moments leading up to the start of this clip (unless I missed some).
Of all the pre RR stuff, most of it shows a gang of morons (It'd be an insult to bikers to call this group 'bikers') tearing up the roads & completely disregarding the laws & bas9ically making everyone else's life a misery.

It just goes to show how vital a dashcam (especially a dual cam) is. Without this footage, the headlines would be "loony in huge SUV goes on the rampage, injuring innocent bikers".
Had the driver installed his own dual cam, we would no doubt be seeing him taking his family on a pleasant drive to suddenly find himself surrounded by a gang of morons.
Note also, the distinct lack of rear number plates on these bikes !

Isn't he stationary though? He looks to me as if he has pulled over to make the call, but probably could have chosen a better (ie safer) place to stop to do it.
even if he's stationary he can still be prosecuted.

The rule is you must not be in control of a vehicle while using a mobile device.

"in control" in the eyes of the law means Stationary/Moving while the keys are in the ignition.

If im in the driving seat and use my phone, i put the keys on the dashboard, so its obvious they are out of the ignition.
