Hi all,

My Bravo has some issues while starting the engine. The indicator for glow plugs is blinking, and turns off a few seconds after turning the key (before starting the engine). I have new glow plugs, but not installed yet.
However, when I turn the key to make contact, I hear something ticking like some sparks are jumping around from end to end (like on a stove). It appears it comes from behind the dashboard against the firewall. Also the engine will crank, but not start. The battery and dynamo are clearly not the issue.

Are the glow plugs the issue? Or has it something to do with contacts or fuses?

Looking forward to your respones!

Hot air gun to the intake and try starting.
If it starts, it's most likely the plugs.

I haven't tried that yet, but since I had the glow plugs on the shelf, I decided to replace the first one (and only one who can be reached the easiest). Turned out to be the main problem. Now I need to figure out how to reach the other three.

Also I noticed the air intake was loose on a couple of spots. Same goes for the Marea, is this a common problem with these older Fiats?

Good news is that the engine will start, so I'm able to drive to work again in the Bravo. :)

Issue has not been resolved completely, but at least I can go on from here.
