Hi guys,
I quess that I ain't the newbie to jump in the deep end and found himself floundering.
I bought a kit car that was complete and running, and immediately stripped it. So now it's broke.
My problem is that I pulled a competent Ford engine to be replaced with a twin cam Lancia engine.
Great idea, I even found a rebuilt 2000 engine on Ebay. No gearbox, though.
Back on Ebay to find a 5 speed that would suit
So out came the running engine and gearbox to see where we are with the fiat replacement. Turns out the gearbox is too fat for location as gord ford box.
Next thought, how about using the Ford gearbox onto Fiat engine. Great idea, but now require a new adaptor plate to marry up the two. This now done, I start requiring components which are missing. The clutch release fork, starter motor and crankshaft pulley are on my shopping list. But I don't know which engine I have until someone points out that the engine code is stamped on the block 132 AC40/9.
I will be dammed, but can't find which vehicle this came from so cannot proceed with transplant.
I do hope you can help
Regards
John Garry

You may find further information on the late Guy Croft's website here: http://www.guy-croft.com/viewtopic.php?t=3195
.

Only thing I could find was a 132 A1.040.5 and 132 A1. 0406 1800cc bore 84mm x 79.2 stroke in a Fiat 131 Mirafiori 1800 1975-77 1756cc DOHC, there 2 litre version was a 132 B2.000 engine number.
All that was in an old Autobook Diy Manual. My Autodata books don't go back far enough in Lancia or Fiat on those numbers you gave.

Best match I can get is:

132AC4.0001756ccm128HPFiat 124 Spider Abarth
Thanks for that. Do you know if the crankshaft pulley would be a screw on(like bottle top) or bolt on and any suggestions for purchase of said pulley?
I'm determined to make this work e en when someone suggested that I re-employ the old Ford engine

Pulley will probably be bolt on. You need to look at your crank shaft end. Some had single centre fix 38mm bolt and some 22mm bolt with REVERSE thread. Much later TCs (e.g. 1.8 16V Batchetta) have three radial smaller bolts.

All I can say is that for the Strada/Ritmo 105TC and 130TC the crank pulley is P/N: 5957431
