tapping noise

while my car is idling .. its making a weird tapping noise .. i dunno what it is if i rev it it goes faster ...the noise that is! sounds ****erd! manifold blowing maybe? i did have it checked today but it apparently wasnt that! ..weird!

If its a tappimh moise its most likely one of the heatshields rattling about.

Get under the bonnet and rev it a few times until ya find it

it sounds internal .. but that doesnt help me in the slightest! .. DOH! think a trip to fiat is in order!

Not sure on the design of your engine but on mine there was a heatshield right at the front above the manifold. A small bracket that attached this to the engine had broken. It gave a horrible tiny rattling noise everytime I revved.

Try putting pressure on it when revving to see if its the same.

will do its abit dark now to be pissin round under bonnet! its still under warranty ne how but its not the point!

dont want them to have my car as my wheels will get ****ed up by them! n my zaust will be trashed! no doubt!

I've had that heatshield tightened up and mine still rattles bloody head doer will have to get it looked at soon!!

I'd get down to a garage and get the cam checked, as its a low miler its probably done quite a lot of short trips and that can really gunk up the oil system.

1.4s are known for the cam oilways to block up and destroy the cam and rockers.

it'd just had a cam belt change ... oil change n stuff im gonna be pissed if nethin else is going wrong wiv it! think i may just go n cry for a while! ill blame the alchol!
