..On a 1.2 8v which has had a lot of work done to it.
Seems to be most apparent using a stethoscope near number 3 cylinder in the head. I've checked for a good oil flow and tried to check clearences but i'm not sure if im doing this correctly. I can just about squeeze a 0.43 blade between the shims and the cams which i believe is correct.
Any other ideas?
it doesn't sound 'rough' enough to be piston slap and its most apparent in the head, not the block but you never know.
I've done the head gasket and skimmed the head and ever since its done this (not sure if it was doing it before though.) Pretty sure i got the shims in the right order as i had all parts put in labelled envelopes when i was dismantelling. The head gasket had blown between number 2 and 3 cylinders and a coolant gallery.
