Eventually found out whats responsible for the power loss in my 899 cinq.

One of the tappets on the second cylinder has no resistance at all. It just freely moves in and out. Meaning the valve won't have been opening properly. I've read up on how to change them and I'm confident I can pull it off. But first a couple of questions:

How much will a new tappet be approximately?
Do you have to buy them in pairs or sets or anything like that?
If one tappet has fialed does it mean the others are likely to fail soon?
and if the above is true;
Would it be sensible/safe/effective to perhaps buy the rocker gear that ycming has for sale in the classifieds and use the tappets from that(it has 3 new ones iirc)?

Cheers

tappets is around £13 each, when you take your rocker gear out, if any of the other tappets falls out freely, then from my experience you should replace them.

And the one that moves freely, you will need a new lock ring on the top (which is 50 pence each from Fiat (i also got a bag of them).

My engine has suffer alot of problems with tappets..... which force me to get another engine it got to the point that a tappet fly out every month.

Good luck with it !!
