Tappet Shims

Im trying to find a place where i can buy shims to certain sizes.

the ones on ebay are all to nearest 0.05mm so no good really.

any fiat/lancia ohc specialists you know of???

From Fiat (and as far as I know other manufacturers), the shims are only available in 0.05mm increments. The specified valve clearance tolerances should allow you to use the next size up or down.

If you particularly want exact sizes, you would have to get the next size up and have them ground.

As he says. Even with something with much smaller tolerances (say, Ducati) you have to buy a given size and grind it to suit. Since FIAT's tolerances are + or - 0.05mm, you'll be just fine using off the shelf ones.

I don't know what sizes (that is -- in diameter) you're after. Eurocarcare.net seem to do the FIRE engine ones cheaper than anyone else, for other sizes you might try Guy Croft (Lampredi DOHC, SOHC etc.).
