Hi There,

Anybody got a wiring diagram for 500 abarth 2012 tailgate as i am having intermittent issues with the bulbs not working. I am thinking its wiring as the issue is wiring as bulbs either work or they dont.

Thanks Sharpyboy

It will be(the break) where the flexi is

Hi All,
I've a problem with Number Plate Lights on our 1.2 500. Looking at John202020's schematic, (25) is supposed to be the Number Plate Lights/ Tailgate Switch, yet no Tailgate Switch is shown? The wire colour given is also different from that on our vehicle. The three wires we have at the connector to the Light/Switch unit are: Black - Ground, Yellow - Lights, White - Switch. Voltages at the connector are: White - 10.4v, Yellow - 5.4v. The switch works and opens the Tailgate but no Number Plate Lamps light and the caution lamp is lit on the dashboard. They are new (tested) festoon's and continuity is good from the connector to the lamps. Obviously the problem is in the feed (yellow) wire though I'd expected 12v from both. Again on the schematic, what would be our Yellow wire originates from No.15 on the Passenger Compartment Fusebox (5). I need to test here to check if 5.4volts is present at this point. Is this fuse No.15 and where in the Passenger Compartment is the Fusebox located?
Battery is giving 12.4v at the terminals. Any help much appreciated.

Bianco.

Almost always breaks in the tailgate section rather than the body side! you may have to gently flex the wires upwards to find the problem !-dont pull, or wiggle to hard and create further damage!.
Try to investigate when its as warm as possible the current colder weather encourages the damaged or broken wires to snap when brittle and cold!
good luck with your investigations!

Yes, I agree with your suggestion Steveras57! Zero degrees outside at the moment and the garage is clogged with a dud vehicle awaiting a drivers seat.
Many apologies Sharpyboy for hijacking your post. I'll start my own as soon as I get anywhere with the repair.
