General T-Jet re-map

General T-Jet re-map

None of the roliing roaded T_Jets had a peak power output of 120. So far they were all just under 140bhp. This is where the 5bhp come in. By replacing the turbo, which is from the outside dimensions identical we gained another 18bhp before even mapping it. The mapping will be done this weekend.

How many Tjets have you rolling roaded...seems very odd they can all be 15% overpowered? Are the Mjets nominal figures accurate?

What price would it be to fit the abarth turbo with a remap?

Re-map £ 199.00
Induction £ 199.00
Turbo £ 700.00 plus VAT. Soon there will be a so called re-con version, which is as new as a new one at about half the price.

120bhp would be a bit on the weak side for a car as heavy as the T-Jet. To qoute it at 140bhp would not sound too good when looking at the Abarth. Pushing up the Abarth SS to 200 bhp would be necessary then, which would leave the Mito GTA in a problem.

The M-Jet figures are much closer to reality.

M-jets seem to be more accurate, mine RRd at 135bhp when standard and Sipunto got 125bhp standard on sunday. Not quite 20bhp off like the t-jets are.

Lol at least its 20bhp in the right direction, would be gutted to find out my car only had 100bhp

Has this been mapped yet?

Was meant to be this weekend gone. Unfortunately a Mini, a Barchetta, a Seicento MPI, a GP M-Jet and a Punto Mk1 16v came in too. We couldn't do a lot.

Oi don't you blame my Mini, :):) Its not often you get to see a 260bhp mini.lol:):)

Anyway what time did you end up leaving on saturday, it was a long day. I was gonna send a message to Pete to tell you that i was chatting with a guy who works for Fiat and he said that the SS engine kit is priced at £3850, so at that price its got to be a different turbo and a few other bits.

In fact when i searched ont he internet for you, it appears it includes injectors and plugs too. check this out cut and paste the following link as i don't have 5 posts yet to link URL and stick www. in front of it

let us know how you get on:)

Not you on this forum too.

Just joking.

Thanks for the message.

And how is the hunt for the Punto going?

I left about 10:00pm. Was only 11 hours this time.

what happened with the tjet finally?

It decided to have a bit of a funny habit, which is upsetting us on the rr, drives at first like it would want to die after coming off the rr and then after 40 miles bursting back into life. Since then it is going well. But this is not what we are happy with.

We are looking at the moment into parts of the software that are usually not affected by re-mapping. It will take a bit longer to be able to apply other mods.

Hello!

I'm Gakis Stavrianos, road test editor for Power Techniques Magazine Greece. We are the best & more popular tuning magazine in Greece. Our site is powermag.gr

We have a Fiat Grande Punto T Jet for a long term test and we desided to tune it a little bit.

Our setup:
KW Variant 2 suspension
Full inox custom exhaust with downpipe and cat back
Re mapped ecu from a tuner here in Greece, named Dynodrome.

We own a rolling road dyno, Dynomet 4X4.

We saw about 138Ps as standard. We made some dynos with some other Punto T Jets an all of them was about 136-139Ps an 24kgm of torque.

The inox custom exhaust has 57mm diameter an the engine after the exhaust didnt gain nothing! About 2Ps actually.

Then we had 2 days on the dyno trying to remap the ecu. Finally the turbo is boosting 1.3 bar overboost, stays for a while at 1 bar and it goes slowlly at 0,6bar at 7.000rpm.

We saw about 144Ps and 25,5kgm of torque.

When we removed the air filter and we left the turbo only with its hose we saw about 146,7Ps.

I have all the diagrams in .jpg and a will upload them.

The clue? The t jet engine has very good exhaust system.

Thats for now....

Thank you Gakis.

I wonder what the gentlemen of

Angeltuning and

Celtic have to say about it.

Our partners rolling road is over reading then. Isn't it. And neither does GSR nor Red Dot know anything about tuning.

Anyone of the people who made their claims against us dare to comment?

@power techniques in which issue of the magazine you have mentioned about this moding?

@oldschool : what happened cause i don't get it...:p

We had exactly the same findings as poer techniques and were rediculed by two companies who knew better than us despite the fact that they never tested it on the rr. Also they claim that we do not know how to run a rr and our figures are exagerated.

This afternoon we had a brainstorm and we got quite a bot closer to the solution of the problem. Watch this space.
