With all the people chasing illusive synchro rings, why doesn't the forum or somebody approach Fiat and ask them to produce more. After all, it's their crap gearboxes that are at fault. ( it may be prudent to miss out that bit in any communication). Ian.

I like the idea, but from a manufacturers point of view keeping older vehicles on the road is counter productive to their need to sell new ones.
I seem to recall many owners of vehicles only a couple of years old are having problems with dealer supplying parts and their pride and joy languishing in garage workshops waiting for spares.
I wonder if it is anything to do with Governments trying to force EVs on the public so manufacturers are less keen to spend money on production of parts for what they consider yesterday's technology.
At one time they had to supply parts for up to ten years after production ceased.

I like this idea. Its not just hese either, there have been a few things that I feel we could usefully address as a pressure group. Is there, or could there be a method of approach agreed? I am sure we would need to be careful to not overstep ouselves, but opening a link direct with Fiat might be befeficial. Particularly for cars they no longer make maybe they could be persuaded to share more information as a start. I suppose its not what a forum is about, and might be more something for Fiat Club GB which does engage directly?

Hi again, As a large number of Ducato chassis cabs are used for the bases of motorhomes, you would think Fiat would respect this and cater for the longevity and expense of these vehicles. Who wants to spend £75k on a vehicle when you can't get spares. If this forum got together with m/h forums, for a joint effort, maybe something could be done. Failing that, there is always the Chinese. They seem to enjoy copying things and tend not to bother asking permission.
