Ok so ive put a sub box and amp into my boot. ive wired everything up properly, power from battery to amp, remote wire, rca, then the amp to the sub but there is no sound coming from the sub at all. The power is wired up fine because the amp is powering and lighting up ok, the only thing i can think of is that for the wires to the sub from the amp ive used wires with the plugs on the end which feel although they arent fitting in the slots on the side of the box 100%, would i be better of using speaker wire witht the bare wire ends and wiring those into the ports as opposed to the plugged ends?

Thanks

Pics will help, although it could possibly be the earthing

Ok then.

Do u know where the best place to earth is then from the bravo boot?

Without an earth the amp wont power up

what amp and sub are you using? can you check the amp work ok by taking another speaker that you know works and hook it up loose in the boot to see if you get any output? it could be a duff amp, or sub..

Sub wiring help.....

Ok il try the speaker thing...thanks. if thats ok would i be right in trying a different wire to the sub?

use the wire you already have to try the speaker, then if no joy, try replacing the wire first. rule out the less expencive things bit by bit first (although its unlikely to be the wire, it cant hurt to try)

if you have a spare amp somewhere, or can borrow one of a mate quickly just to test the sub, do that aswell

Sub wiring help

I cant use the same wire for the speaker that im using for the sum becuase the wires have plugs on the end and speaker wires are just connection ended wires. Ive got some other speaker wire which il try with though.

Sub wiring help...

Also the amp is fine because it was in use a couple of days ago.

If your headunit has a different preouts for a sub like mine you may simply have your subwoofer off on the h.u

re

I had a problem liek this took a different set of eyes to fix, the amp appeared to be coming on but no sound. but the power lights were from the remote, the fuse in the main power supply had actually blown!
