Hey, i have a blaupunkt sub, http://www.bluespot.co.uk/stock_image/thb300.jpg

The problem is, when i moderatly hard or go uphill, the sub falls over, if i place it on its back, it takes up alot of boot space. I wanted to know how i could secure them (also making them harder to steal) if anyone has an idea, im open to it. I have a punto mk2. thanks alot.

Also, is it possible to wire rear speakers directly into an amp, as i have no rear speakers.

thanks

Get some brackets on there as Giggz suggested.

You do not want rear speakers, especially amped ones  Drags the soundstage to the rear of the car (n)

And your question is a bit confusing. If you amp a pair of speakers, you have to wire them directly to the speaker outputs on the amp..........

sorry for the confused state! basically on the amp there are the two av holes 1 white 1 red, i was wondering do the speakers plug directly into that

That'd be your RCA inputs - you connect a RCA cable from the preout in your headunit to the RCA input on your amp. The RCA carries the signal to your amplifier from your headunit. (y)

All I have ever used for my sub boxes is industrial strength Velcro.
Never had a problem,

Have you ever had an accident with your sub boxes in? I doubt industrial strength velcro would stop them flying about..................(n)

wise words.think about how much that sub weighs and add in the force of the impact. that sub then becomes a missile from the boot.
the brackets that hold the rear seat in place were never designed fro that kind of load.

I agree, bit hairy in a a crash, build a fake floor with acess to your spare wheel and then put bracket all around it or/and drill and screw from underneath trough the fake floor into the sub box, you'd probably find it ups your bass a bit as well and it done right, looks way better than a floppy carpet (y) thats what iplan to do when i get my subs anyway

i dont have this problem, my sub box is the length of my boot lol, i have to take out parcel shelf and fold seats forward to get it out lol. extra support in a crash up the arse i think (y)

I was in the front of a polo that crashed into the back of our mates cinq doing 30. We all think that the lad in the back of the cinq cud've been hurt if the subs wernt in as they crumpled. (On another note the subs were all ok (y) ) Thankfully no-body was hurt!

I used double sided velcro to keep my 12" sub standing up, but it started squeeking against the back seats when it rubbed so I just lay it down, sounds better for some reason like this
