hi boys and girls, i am trying to wire my sub up in my fiat brava sx, i got the stereo out fine, but trying to get the wires down the bk of the stereo hole and into the drivers side footwell is being a nightmare, anyone got any tips? peas .. loz

i took mine down the passenger side of the car was far easier than drivers...just looped it over the glove box and through the trim under the door (be very carefull not to snap or crack the trim)

you want your power down one side and the sound wires down the opposite to ensure no interference (sp) is caused.

use the ruber bungs in the front passenger footwell to root your power wire to the battery, and just very very carefull with the plastic side panes below the door as im sure i cant be the only bravo owner to have been through numerous of these as they snap very easily!

DERV POWER OOOO YEAH!!! GEARBOX NEEDED!!!

Not true about separating the signal and power.
Make it easy on yourself - use the passenger side for both and make sure the Amp is earthed very well - hey presto, no interference.

James is right, send power down passenger side ans RCA lead down drivers.

Take care to loop RCA leads well out the way of the pedles.

Depending on what or how good ur set up is you may not get interferience if u put them down together BUT in the world of good practise they SHOULD be seperate.

Where are u located, if ur near another member who's done this they might be able to give u some help.

Keep the questions comming, if ur really.... Stuck I'll take some pics :)

Any in-car ice installer WILL (and I have done 4 years) put audio down middle of the car AWAY from other electrical interference found on the outside cable runs in the car.

Thus you can gaurantee no interference !

Proper job first time = no hassles later.

yer as above and other posts..make sure you seperate the power cables to the rca's for non interferience..ive always done it that way and is that way in my car at the mo.power cables dwn and under door trim on passenger side and rcs's down middle of car

Mike

that is just a myth about separating power cables, its just cought on and every one does it. you send the power down the drivers side or passenger side then your going to be interfereing with the rear speaker wire, plus when its in the boot they will be 9/10 times be touching...

tbh,ive never had any problems when it comes to installing i.c.e in my car,or in a mates car etc.ive once had 2x1200w jbl's in a free air box (using the boot as the main box) with 300w vibe 6x9's ampd up and aswell as standard speakers in doors ampd up in my old rst s1 that i had and also installed a 'crossover' and a powercap.never had any problems with it,loved the noise!

but to be fair, each to their own when it comes to wiring ice up i suppose

cheers 4 the help peoples, it is just the rca leads i am stuck with tho, getting them from where the stereo goes in down to where the pedals are, there doesnt seem to be a way through, any ideas how to do it? chrz... loz

Right, start by postin the RCA'a thru were ya stereo goes as far down as poss, then get on the floor and reach up and hopefully you will be able to grab the rca's and then pull and feed them whereva your gona put them. (Try moving your chair right back to access room). You should be able to run and clip them up under drivers dash and then to the drivers side door trim.
or on another note, take ya seats out, roll the carpet up and feed them down the middle of the car to the boot..job done :D

re

if you take out centre console around handbrake and gear lever you will almost be able to pull them down the centre without taking any carpet up.

on a basic level interference isnt going to make any difference, if you start hetting into real quality i think it can.

" 2x1200w jbl's in a free air box (using the boot as the main box) with 300w vibe 6x9's "

thats not proper gear! lol ;)

ask any one from bradford way, Jordon, sly si etc who have heard my sound system and then let them tell you that puttin the rca cables on power cables effects it!

where ever the cables go there will be popwer some where near or even on it, you telling me behind the dash where the wire come down it touches no wires? also it is running on a permanent negitive when it touches the body work, and there is powerright at the source when it comes from the head unit!

and i have 2 amps and there is no interference!

Its your own choice how to install at the end of the day, but electrical interferance may not be heard by the ear, but can still cause long term problems. Power resonate frequencies above 20,000hz. you wont hear em, but there none the less.

@ Rascal...well it worked fine for me mate and i loved the noise ma car made,..

It may not be 'proper gear' , but i didnt wana splash out for rather expensive stuff.and tbh, theres nought wrong with Vibe..

easiest way is to send them down the middle, under the centre console and up under the rear seat.

In theory you are best to seperaate the power from the rca leads due to intereference, be it audible or not. Yes there is power elsewhere in the car and you are likely to pass it, but you wont be running the entire length of the car with it.

Having had quite a few installs over the years it has helped, and although I didnt manage to get the full fat system installed, some of my 'lesser' ones kicked for what they were, running 3 amps, 2 subs, and 6 other speakers.

Powercaps are another one of those wonderful myths in ice, years ago they served a purpose to some extent as i understad it,but now with better battery tech and elsetrical systems you dont need one, your better of spending the cash on a better battery

like a big yellow battery :)

Only battery I've ever had to buy... and prob even need to buy!!!

there is easy easy way... u know where the wires are and were they need to be.... make the conection happen!!

its not rare for u to have ur head squashed up against the break or clutch trying to wind ur hand up to the back of the radio trying to grab the RCA's....

Top Tip:- send a thinner bit of wire down 1st and tape the RCA's to it and just pull once you've hold of the wire :)
