Technical Stuck in gear.

Hi all,

On my way home tonight in 2nd gear, went to change up into third and felt a click and now the car is stuck in 2nd gear. Have attached a video of the gear stick, should it be attached to anything at that end or is it definitely a cable somewhere? It’s a 1.4 16v GP manual.

May be cable broken, it has 2, one for up/down and other for left/right. Check cables in gearbox selector and put in neutral from there.

Thanks for the reply. There definitely is no left to right movement. Is the gearbox selector only accessible from under the car?

Depend on engine space, if it's C514 gearbox may be you can see both cables under battery, one is little arm mechanism (should be left/right gear stick) and other goes to weight piece (up/down). If it's stuck in 2nd gear it should work for first gear straight (clutch pressed) moving from selector the up/down cable. Even you can unplug cables on gearbox to check gears and cables. If you heard clear "click" inside cabin it should be cables or gear stick.
