The engine management light in my EVO doesn't work. It appears that in the past somebody went into the dashboard and broke or covered up the LED that illuminates the EML. A few years ago the car failed an MOT because the EML light was on, so it seems they just paid someone to remove the dash and disable the LED. However having a completely non-working EML is an MOT fail. So now i'm concerned that during the next MOT an inspector will notice this and fail the car.
The car has no error codes recorded, so the light should be off if it was working at all.
So my question is...how difficult is it replacing the instrument cluster? Or repair it?
I found this video that shows a repair, but its never that simple...
