Hi - I'm fairly new around here and new to Tipo ownership. I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas on the following:

1. Most of the time, but not always, my wipers are hesitant on the intermittent setting. What I mean is, they sweep up, stop for a short while and then sweep down again. Is this an electrical problem? I get no problems when they are on normally, just when on intermittent.
2. Still on wipers, my car is a 1993 model and has strange ones which do not appear replacable with normal wiper blades. It looks like the whole wiper needs to be replaced which may mean a trip to the dealer (Halfrauds don't stock them) and sounds expensive. Anybody know where I can get them or what "normal" wipers I can convert to?
3. I changed the glow plugs and ever since then the temp gauge has stopped working. I forgot to disconnect the battery but I can't see any fuses blown. Ideas? Incidentally, when the gauge did work before it never got the the halfway point - is that normal?

Thanks in anticipation of your help!

Wiper prob, particularly if they're working ok on fast but jerky/slow on slow can be caused by wiper motor grease squeezing out on to the relay contact plate. You need to take the wipers off, then the black air vent, dig the motor out, disconnect the plate, clean up the contact plate and motor shaft.

Pretty sure temp gauge is powered by the wire coming out of a bolt in the centre of the cyl head i.e just above the glow plug rail. Perhaps this got disonnected?

hi there NEW tipo owner.... as to number 2 question try Bravo/brava/Tempra,
or go to the scrappy and size some up.... there was a previous thread a few weeks ago relating to conventional/non- conventional wiper arms.. have a read through previous and you will surely find...(y)

If you have the speed fit ones (thin arms) then you can just buy the packs like anyone else.

If you have the thicker arms you can either replace the blade (think places like asda/halfords sell the rubber) or replace the whole arm with Bravo/Brava/Marea arms. The drivers side will fit as-is, but the passenger arm will need to be shortened by drilling the rivet, cutting down the arm and re-drilling and riveting.
