I'd expect the main battery is just a standard lead-acid type, replaceable with any decent branded battery for around £100 or so. On a 5yr old car, just change it if in any doubt.
The hybrid battery, on the other hand, is likely a dealer only replacement costing perhaps ten times that. Secondhand ones can be bought online, but even they are not cheap. I'd expect that one to last more than five years, but it's going to be a cost to bear in mind when the time does come. I'd be interested to know if it can still run without a functional hybrid battery, or if it's a 'computer says no' moment. I don't think we've seen a post yet from someone who's hybrid battery has failed.

sorry i might have caused some confusion.. i was looking at battery chargers and some say no lithium and some say lithium allowed so i presumed some car main batteries were lithium.. my panda isnt a hybrid.i was loking on ebay at batteries and seems twice the price for a battery suitable for s/s than a regular battery...
