Does anyone know why the wipers (front) should stop mid way then about 30secs later turn back on again and finish the wipe? Seems to only happen when its cold over night or damp.

Also what is it with the brake light switch at the peddle do they always jam on???

The car is a 1.2 16v Active 5 Door

Thanks in advance

It may have some intelligence to prevent burning the motor out if they are starting to stick during a wipe. However, I suspect that you've got a set of faulty wipers.

As for the brake light switch, I believe Fiat know about the problem. Are your brake lights sticking on?

Yep the stick on if you brake easy and then pull away, the only way to clear this is to bang the pedal down hard, everything goes back to normal after that.

If the wipers find difficulties to continue they stop for a while and then they go back to its defalut position its a reversed sensor if it happens only one time maybe its a mark that your wipers needs to be changed as the normal use is for about a year.If its happen all the time go to your dealer as soon as possible to check your wiper motor and that sensor cause its very possible to burn the wiper motor.

1. Wiper problem is known to fiat as well. Its the park relay pack ontop of motor. Fiat have put in the wrong grease into the motor and when gets could it sets hard causing the terminals to rise of the circuit board. Take it to dealer.
2. The brake light switch is self adjusting, in the sense of it must be pulled out fully then the brake pedal released slowly until the switch is in the right postion. The brake pedal does not have a stop, so if the pedal is pulled up by mistake the brake light switch move further up and puts the lights on all the time......:D:D:D

Thanks for the replies I will change the front wiper blades and see if that helps.

As for the brake sensor switch phoned a different dealer they are going to replace it [8D]

Thanks again for all your help
