General Stilo Van?

Is it available in the UK, by all accounts it is in ireland..........Ive never seen one before

think you will find its down to the tax or insurance system in ireland(cant remeber which) where its massivly cheaper to run a van over a car.hence why you see modded car based vans over there

Looking at them, im not sure if they're actually vans or just 3 door stilo's with the rear windows coloured, they're definately described as vans though

think for tax/insurance only the rear windows need to be filled.think they can just put metal in where the glass would be

Generally also - there're no back seats - the back's are open plan, (i.e. like a van)... So, they're classed as commercial vehicles, and fall into neater, cheaper cost brackets over here...

Multiwagons are 5 door though, to my knowledge 5 door cars are never turned into vans

more of an estate though.if the rears glassed then it wont be counted as a van in the irish sense

Multiwagons are 5 door though, to my knowledge 5 door cars are never turned into vans

they do

Skoda does a load, from the old favorit estate and hatch vans, to the Octavia one

Land Rover also has vans based on the 5dr Defender and Discovery (aswell as the 3dr ones too)

if i am not mistaken 5 doors can also be turned to vans. they require a rigid floor and back windows to be blacked out.

i read an example from the Driving section of the sunday times, where people were using the new Land Rover Discovery and getting around the high tax for vehicles of these sizes. One of these is to black out the last 2 windows and fit in a rigid floor, this then classed it as a van and pays cheaper tax. Not 100% sure about the 5drs, or if they needed to be sealed, but i didnt think they needed to. [think of the quad cab pick up trucks etc.]

i read this a while ago so i may be mistake...but you get the idea.

Don't forget, tax laws in this country are being changed, and benefits-in-kind for company van drivers will increase substantially - you can blame the abuse of the twin-cab pickup for that....

Dunno if this helps,but if you zoom in on the1st pics of the van,you can see the rear headrests,so it looks like its got rear seats to me.probably just got those window stickers like they put on busses and taxis nowdays,mabe wrong but deffo looks like its got back seats to me,Anthem(even though the stickers say "new stilo van".Probably some kinda tax thing like stu said.Or mabe its just the angle and my old dodgy eyes,lol.

also, i dont think the pic of the MultiWagon is the Van vesion, as from what i can find, the Van has a hightop roof, like the Octavia above

EDIT : more 5 door vans, they seem quite popular
