Stilo tyre wear POLL

Stilo tyre wear POLL

I have a Stilo 1600 16V 3 Door Dynamic on an 02 plate with 15K on the clock - just out of warranty and have been made aware that the camber is seriously off and has worn the two front 205/55 R 16 91V tyres down to the cords on the inside edge of the tyre wall. I was told that this cannot be fixed by adjusting the TOE, and needs a castor camber check and adjustment. I was told by the dealer it is a known fault, and can be sorted with a 4 wheel alignment.. a point disagreed with by the independant tyre company mechanic who fitted my two new tyres. Now... knowing naff all about camber and wheel alignments... has anyone else had this problem and if so what was done to put it right?... Any info before I go into battle with the dealer over who pays for this would be appreciated

By the way... I posted this as a reply to another thread.. so if ur reading this a second time... no its not deja vu :D .. I'm new to this ;)

Yep Front tyres worn out on inner edges - front wheel alignment spot on. Now to tackle Fiat over it! 13,000 mile 03 1.6 dynamic

Hi, you must get a 4 wheel laser alignment done at an independent specialist as fiat have not got a clue, mine cost me £45 but it has solved the problem, I am claiming the cost back from fiat.
Im on my third set of fronts now in 20000 miles, the 'TOE'(imagine the front wheels facing away from each other instead of being parallel) on my fronts was way off, all it took was a few turns of a spanner on the track nuts to correct it. I just dont understand why fiat could not fix it.

I'm late but I saw this thread now! I had same problem last year and 4 wheel laser aligment was done at Fiat. They wanted me to pay about 2000SEK (about £146) + new tires for about £260 (Firestone Firehawk)

They also tried to explain that it may be my fault. After a hour of drivel they gave up and I escaped invoice for wheel aligment but I had to buy new tires. I got both (Firestone Firehawk) for £130...

Last month I got a letter from Fiat that a series of Stilos is retrieved included mine for some fix in steering something. Sorry guys I don't know what's called in english only in Swedish. "Styrväxel" in Swedish if u can find explaination...

Stilo 1.8 16v Dynamic made may 2002...

Yup put me down for 2 new tyres - see attached. Not too bad at 12k compared to the other photo example on here. Fiat have agreed to do the tracking plus pay for 1 tyre - I pay for the other. Sticking to Firehawks. Seeing what you guys have said I will insist on castor camber toe in plus tracking being done. Dealer says that "it's just a matter of using elongated bolt holes"!!! ;) :(

Apart from all the info on the FF the only clue I was on the 1st service report which stated that the 2 rear tyres were both 6mm and the front were 5mm o/s + 4mm n/s. Roll on FF (y)
