Has anyone on this forum bought a Stilo Schumacher?
I've looked at 3 now with a view to perhaps buying one, all new or at the most with 700 miles on the clock and I have to say the finish on the Zender bodykit is absolutely appalling.
They all seem to lack a decent amount of paint. The mesh is held in place with several metal clips that on all three cars have gone rusty and where they have been pushed on to the lugs the paint has been scraped off the bumpers. The cut outs in the bumpers look like they have been done with a pair of scissors.
I would normally defend Fiat, but in this case I can't see any other manufacturer producing such a shoddy top of the range model. It's a real shame because from a distance the GP version does look the business.

I don't think many people like the schumacher version. I would rather buy an abarth and add whatever bodykit you fancy on to it.

there isn't much difference between the abarth and the schumacher anyway, just the bodykit, suspension (i think) and the lack of connect nav.

Thats not standard anymore anyway . . . from what I can tell the Schumi is a special-red Abarth with the bodystyling kit and Claws - the GP kit adds the OZ's, suspension and exhaust upgrades (Prodrive inspired so I'm led to believe). Inside it's the same as an Abarth, except you get a badge on your dash saying what number Schumi it is!

I've seen one on the road being driven by an older gentleman and thought it looked pretty good. I didn't look at the fit and finish of the body kit because I was driving at the time but I thought it looked better than a standard Abarth. I wouldn't buy another Stilo unless it was well cheap and got a really special deal, couldn't afford to lose that much money again, I doubt the Schui model will retain value any better; unfortunately the car trade hates the Stilo and that seems to include Fiat dealers too.

I will be picking my new Schumacher in less than a week and I love the look of the car and what it comes with and the price was amazing. No.089. The only downside was that the Fiat dealer said that they couldn't get the GP kit for it but I am trying to get it after I pick the car for the same price. But I'm not too bothered as it was the LE version I saw, test drove and bought. Still a lovely car.

Why buy an Abarth and pay more to have a car that will only look similar? Ignore the MS badges and it is much better looking than a golf GTI for at least £10 000 less.

ScottyP, I like the MS Stilo, it's an Abarth by another name to me. Thing is though you could by an Abarth, buy the upgrades seperately and still save money (depending on how much you pick up the MS for).

Was the Schumacher you are getting is pre registered or brand new? There do seem to be a few pre registered ones around with just nominal mileage. Do you mind if I ask what dealer you have bought it from?

Brand new 06 plate
Bought from Donald McKenzie in Inverness. Alfa dealer as well, oh how gorgeous is the Brera?

The three door Stilo is a great looking car loaded with goodies and much cheaper than it's rivals, why are the roads not full of them?

The Abarth looks and sounds great.

Found no problems with mine.love it to bits.paint is just the same as any itlian car make-THIN
its cheaper to buy the shumi gp as is than to buy a abarth then purchase the other bits plus not the ame kudos nor wont be worth as much.
when i was at the dealer before i bought my Shumi GP the price list was not quite the same body kit £800(not includin tax).
GP wheels £500 (with discount and no tyres)
lowering kit £ (Not the same spec as shumi cos of shocks)
plus you dont get prodrive tweeked chassis which is good on the road or on track.
The UK only got 200

I didn't realise that the Schui is different in different countries.
In Brazil they used the five door as it's base car.
The Spanish are using the 1.9 diesel for the base car.

The Italians have a smart interior. With good looking alloys and offer two different engines 1.9JTD and the 2.4.
Singapore is same as our LE with a few minor differences.

Don't like the white stripe though.

Imagine what the car would be like with our GP kit, those Italian wheels and interior and 100 BHP more.

Oh I love those seats and look theres four pedals :p handy if you got three legs :D [I know you lot its a foot rest]:D the side stripe reminds me of that american cop series that used to be on the box years ago
