I think the driveshafts must be weak, brilliant that they have already been done though mate, it cost me around £600 for two shafts, one either side, I fitted them myself. If the driveshafts a wearing the car shakes like a massage machine. Good to start with, gets a bit tedious lol.

It must be something to do with the power going through them. It's a pretty fast paced car off the line of you give it some.

Climate control is a real pain. What I would say is that if it is making the pulsing sound then you will have the same problem I have had. The plastic dowels snap off on the actuators and cause the motor to keep spinning. To be honest pal if the air system is working at lease to a usable level I wouldn't bother messing with it. You have to remove the glove box to get to the actuator motors and refit dowels on them which cost be £6 each and it doesn't seem to be making much difference.

And although resetting it is a good idea it didn't work solving this issue. Open the window mate its easier haha!

Let us know how you get on with the exhaust?

And don't give up with it, it's an amazing car!

Well it took me a couple of hours but its done ImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1374342247.290050.jpgImageUploadedByFIAT Forum1374342264.556160.jpg

Stilo abarth for sale with a claimed bhp of 260, not possible without a turbo conversion surely?

Ebay Item #:111124350265

Hmmmm I'm very sceptical about this I must admit  260bhp is possible from an engine of 2.4 litres but I'm not sure weather it's possible from this engine? That's a 90bhp increase!! Not from just a remap surely? (And isn't a remap and "chipped" the same thing??) ....... I'm hoping to squeeze around 225bhp using a sports decat exhaust, fast road cams bigger injectors, gas flowed head and a remap? ........ Or maybe I'm playing it safe with my figures! :D

I simply don't believe it. I'll bet it's never been near a dyno. Sounds like an 'approximation' dreamed up to brag about in the pub. 'I bought a cam belt but never needed to fit it'. Yeah? Were you waiting for it to break, and it didn't?

Statements from someone who doesn't even know the gearbox is called Selespeed but calls it "triptronic" (sic) must be treated with a large dose of salt...

And we all know what happens to Stilos with 'some' service history...

if there is no print out of a dyno run then i just don't believe it..... plus to get to that kind of power from a n/a would cost literally thousands, you would have to increase cc, fit lumpier cams, and probably supercharge it plus map it to get that surely....

Your right, to get that from a n/a engine is pretty hard core stuff, and if your getting that there is undoubtedly going to be a huge list of necessary "mods" to achieve it!! There's so much bull**** in this ad it's laughable!

A stilo with "some service history" sounds like a good idea to me, shal we start the bidding? :D

Anyone else have a problem getting a descent reading from the oil dipstick on the 2.4 engine?

Gadge, my drive slopes the tiniest amount, when I checked it this morning the dipstick was dry which shocked me as I only checked it a while back, then turned it round at it was a 1/4 full lol.

I struggle to read where the level is even after a change, it's not a very easy one to read, glad I'm not the only one lol

No your not the only one, quite a few on here have pointed out that the dipstick goes in at a ridiculous angle so gives an inaccurate reading you also have to let it drain well before you read it, like give it a good half an hour after switch off before you check it. Mine burns oil badly so I'm forever checking it/topping it up!

And I thought my scooby was hard to get a reading from!! That's nothing compared to the stilo lol, thanks for your help I got the level on max now (I think) one half of the dipstick shows half one shows full!!

Heads up if anyone's due an oil change, just picked halfords 5/40 fully synthetic on offer for £10 for 4L so bought 2 for a change and some spare for top ups!
