Just thinking. Would it be cheaper for me to buy the part and have someone fit it for me? Doesnt look like that hard of a job, as the EGR is easily located?? Has anyone changed theirs themselves, and was it hard to do?

Pretty easy, located just behind the engine on the bulkhead. I'm sure there's a description of removal in one of the older EGR threads. Not that hard though as I managed it, LOL

awesome, im gonna purcashe one this weekend. shop4parts, here i come
I'd strongly recommend you block the valve to prove it's faulty first.

Much easier to block than change it.

If it works then simply remove the blocking gasket when you fit the new valve (falls out anyway)

If it doesn't work then it's cost you nothing (sardine tin maybe :D)

Hi all. Just an update to say all is now well with the car. It's been a week since the EGR Valve was replaced and I am well pleased. It is also interesting to note that I am seeing quite an increase in the MPG. I seem to have an increase of about 5% since the EGR was replaced (against before and after) - Not a lot of difference I know, but it all helps! Best wishes to all (y)
