My main stilo remote key fob has just started to play up, it unlocks the car, locks again but will not deadlock, then stops locking at all, the red light on the fob then flashes for a while, it still starts the car OK, but I have to use the key to unlock the car.

I do have a spare which still works fine.

I have changed the fob battery twice, it works fine for a day or so then does this again, any ideas?

Oh, a few days ago I had the passenger side headlight bulb replaced, the Garage had to remove the battery to do this, but the key still worked fine after this, not sure if this is actually relevant.

The immobiliser is a totally different part of the fob and requires no battery to work so that side won't be affected.

So your car is not quite happy with the lock/unlock signal coming from the suspect key circuit. As the other key works fine then I'd expect the suspect key isn't putting out a clear recognised or accepted signal but you'd have to take it to a technician to find out

Car going for service on Wednesday to little independent garage, says he has tester for fobs etc, will check fob & can re-programme if needed as part of service.

Has previously done diagnostics on computer before at a fraction of the Fiat Dealer price. (y)
