Technical Stilo hesitating on acceleration

Hi Guys,

I am experiencing some problems with my stilo 1.9 JTD..
Basically when i accelerate some time's not all the time I am encountering the engine hesitating / losing power but when i ease of the accelerator and then re-apply the power slowly all seems fine. this just come and goes for what seems no real reason.

Any help would be hugly appriciated...

why does this crap always happen in and around xmas... like theres not enough to do and expense..

From what I have read around here is seems like it maybe your overboost valve (im no expert thought). There are a few threads around here about loss of power. This chap had loss of power but had a couple of error messages too

Sounds just like the problem I had with the overboost valve - off to the nearest Fiat dealer with you:idea: for a diagnostic.

i had the same sort of problem from my 1.6 16v stilo drove beautifully but occasionally it would hesitate, one day last week i pulled away from a junction and it just died, the engine would run fine but there was no throttle response, my local garage took it in and diagnosed it as being a faulty throtle body and that had spiked the ecu!!!

Did you have to have a new throttle body? My 2002 1.6 active is stalling occasionnally as well. Just checked brakes and front pads need changing as well , this car is keeping alot of mechanics well fed this xmas.
