If your 2.4 does more than 3500rpm at 80mph, then I've used it wrong... :D

Ralf S.

I think you did it correctly, 2.4 has around 3500rpm at 80mph so dropping it down to 2700 would be MASSIVE improvement :slayer:

Does anyone know where the reverse light switch is located? Pictures would be helpful. Thanks!

So time has passed and I still haven't decided to tweak Stilo's gear ratios but lately I came across something I'd call good news. Some guy from Fiat Stilo Club Poland has told that the main problem with swapping in 6-speed box is the diff housing and that he's working on it right now. I hope the results will be satistyfing, I could then use the knowledge or drop my car at his spot for him to help.
I won't lie, swapping the gearbox is my number one solution so if there's any chance that would work while keeping the costs at bay, i got to try it.

Stay tuned for some more informations.

There are a number of car programs where they change roofs, change chassis, and just about everything else. So, to chonk some bodywork to give clearance for a different diff housing doesn't sound too difficult :).

However, there's a world of difference in doing it to a stripped out engine bay in a full size, fully equipped workshop, to doing it in your garage or at the side of the road with a few spanners and a trolley jack
