Technical Stilo Cruise control retro fit help needed ASAP!!

I need help with retro fitting cruise control into my 1.9 JTD 115BHP.

Whats parts do i need to retro fit?

I believe it has no wiring there already so would need the full shabang!!

i have access to a car that has cruise control already in it so if i could get a parts list then i could get it all out on saturday.

I should imagine u would need a clutch peddle sensor the cruise control switches and get it programmed into the ecu. U could change the loom or just add wiring to the correct pin locations. I havent owned the stilo long but this is what I had to do on my vauxhall vectra.

Could you link me to a vectra forum where you learnt this method please, I've heard that there is something under the fuse box in the engine.

Dont know anything about under the fuse box and cant find the link but if you google retrofit cruise control vauxhall or fiat ther'll be loads of info

Hi there there a few ways to convert your car the easy way is to undo the steering column shroud and see if there is a white connector that's hanging loose. If there is then all you need is the control stalk and an Allen key. If it doesn't then the procedures a little more complicated in that you have to manually wire the switch to a brown plug somewhere near the fuse box.

Check out this posts but read it carefully and fully. There is a comprehensive guide in the form as well just do a search i here. Mine was predisposed so had to wire from the stalk to the D4 connector in battery box

The guide was fully comprehensive when I last checked at informing you on what you needed. Have you read it all

The only "parts" needed are the stalk, either from a Stilo or an Alfa, a length of 5 core wire (I used Cat5), some choc-blocks or crimp fittings, associated electrical fitting paraphernalia and a good afternoon free.

What year is your JTD? I have read somewhere that JTD's come pre-wired, except the 2002 models which mine typically is.

Get your battery out and the fuse box up, there will be a brown connector with 2 wires coming out, but about 10 going in (see the guide). The 2 are for your oil level sensor - don't chop it out.
Use the Pin-Out guide, and connect your wires in. You may need to find a 12v feed for the stalk too.

My stilo is 2003 and ill have a look under the fuse board for the brown plug, sounds cheeky but would you be able to so an idiots guide to wiring it please.

It's all in the original thread / guide! Have a look for yourself. Read it all from front to back and you'll know exactly what you're doing!

1) Remove interior trim
2) Run cable through
3) Connect to D4
4) Connect to stalk
5) Re-fit trim

No it isn't. Thats instrument illumination control.

haha similar pic my bad, looks like I need to be doing this aswell then. ive got the little wire behind the airbag though so should be a doddle.

Just a quick tip that which might already be mentioned in the guide, if you can't get hold of a genuine Stilo CC stalk you can use a stalk from an alfa 147. The connector is the same and the fixture to the steering column is also the same. The stalk itself is a little different from the Stilo one but it operates in the same manor as the Stilo one
