About a year ago, the alarm on my beloved Stilo started going off randomly, with particular fondness for 2-3am, so I started locking it with the key in the door and so not arming the alarm.
A few months ago, out of curiosity, I locked the car using the key fob and found that now the alarm doesn't arm at all. I lock/unlock the car using the key fob and when I come to start the car, I get the 'alarm fault' message. Yet, on occassions when I had cause to lock the car while my dogs are in it, I get the 'theft has been attempted message' as if the alarm was working and the dogs triggered it by jumping around.
Any ideas what the problem could be? I'm thinking the siren is probably shot to fc:uk but I have absolutely no idea how to check, or even what I'd be looking for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
