hi evryone i was wondering if anyone could help me i have a squeeking noise which i think is coming from the air con tensioner but i cant seem to get hold of one anywhere would i be able to bypass it by putting a smaller belt on that just runs from the bottom end pulley to the other pulley thats by the tensioner or does anyone know where i can get one from

Hi. Welcome to the FF.

Both the fixed and adjustable tensioners are orderable from a Fiat dealer.

If your problem is with the adjustable tensioner and you bypassed it, then you'd have no way of tensioning a shorter belt, even if one was available.

Yes you can. The "Alternator Failure" warning will come up on the display but that should go once you've refitted it. It may need 3 clear starts for the warning to go.

You could test whether it's the belt squealing by dribbling water on it.

Dave.
