Hi everybody,

This is the hardest thing ive ever had to do but I need to sell my stilo abarth selespeed due to the misses not getting on with the car.

3 door
broom yellow
lowered 35mm
60000 miles
full service history
excellent condition
9 months MOT
4 months tax

PM me for more details

She's refusing to take it out now complaining that she cant park it, the doors are to long(not sure what that means) for the supermarket car park, the ride is to stiff.
I have to be making an effort to sell it but will be trying my hardest to put off any buyer.

Can't park it? Has she tried reversing it in :p

The 3 door version does have long doors, but as an excuse??

Too stiff? That an excuse :D I see you lowered it, but I suppose before it was too spongy.

Even with the help of sensors she cant reverse park it, the few times we have been out together in it with her driving ive had to park it.
She reckons that it is difficult to hold the door open without it hitting the car park next to it and get our son out at the same time, I say park in the corner where nobody else does.
she never drove it when it was spongy.

Out of interest, what cars/driving experience has she had before? Be interesting to see how she would cope with a Ulysse, lol :p

Surely you park in the kiddie spots when you go shopping - plenty of room for doors to swing open.

Her 2 previous cars have been a 1 litre fiesta and a 1.2 nova, she's ok on the motorway but not very confident when theres a lot of other traffic about.
We sometimes find that the parent spaces are normally filled up with fat and lazy people with no kids in sight.

Anybody know what I should be able to get for the car?

why not just give her a little £500 jobbie to crash about in :D

she can put all the car park dongs she likes in that :p

theres a nice panda for £120 in classifieds (y)

The answer is pretty straightforward, Ditch the Missus, keep the car.
Just pick up a Hoochie mama from The local Maccy D's (make sure they aren't old enough to drive, shouldn't be a problem) You get to keep the car, and an appreciative Girlfriend "Yeah man he's well fit and his cars proper gud its got big rims and beeps and that when you like go back"

:D :D :D

I can understand where she's comin from though. The cars so responsive, and havin no clutch, it can be quite scary to park when your new to it, and being a woman it will take her at least 2 years to get used to it ;)

OMG what have i let myself in for

You see thats such a woman thing, when my GF drives a new car for the first time, she's always, 'where does the clutch bite' etc...

Me I just jump in a drive :D

This is funny reading. Last November I got a 307 for my wife since that's what she really wanted (based mainly on looks), although we did have one as a hire car a few years ago and liked it a lot. I had no chance in getting her to want a Stilo due to the local Fiat dealers who couldn't either do a test drive - because there was nobody there on a saturday afternoon at 3pm (yes Bishops of Guildford, I'm talking about you). Or because it was a Sunday and only one salesman there, and no Stilo demonstrator (Cleveland Cars are usually better than that).

Anyway, now she says she likes driving it, having got used to the very high clutch (still slipping it a bit though), but for parking "It's too big". Fair enough, particlayy at her work car park (NHS) which is always full and has tiny spaces. So I'm happy to drive it more, but that means she has to drive my Punto. Her legs hit the steering column, so she doesn't like it. I think about changing for something else, she says: Must be small, 5dr for practicality, and look good (I agree on that one - perhaps the Panda's looks would grow on us...). Out goes the Smart Roadster, or the Punto HGT JTD. I think I'll have to take her car and force her to drive my Punto!

My advice. Make her drive it. On her own. Make her get used to it. Put her favourite CDs in, fill it with fuel and let her get on with it. A long drive to visit someone and she will hopefully come back used to and liking the car. Of course, phone whoever she's going to see to comment on how fantastic she looks driving the car etc etc...
