So my mate asked me to sort out his stereo from draining his battery. so I tought it would just be a switching of the red and yellow wires. But it isn't. When looking at the wiring there is the red wire coming from the cars loom with no Yellow wire what can be attached to the perminant positive yellow wire on the head unit. The red wire has the yellow wire attacked to it before the radio Iso kit. I just want to know what colour wire should be conected to the yellow wire.
The ideas what I have come up with to stop the battery draining are
1- Conect the head units yellow wire straight to the battery of the car.
2- Put a switch on the yellow wire to stop the head unit from getting power and draining the battery.
I don't know if any of these will work so could you tell me if you think they will be ok of if you have any other suggestions to solve the problem. Thanks
The car is a 1998 Mk1 Punto
The wiring as not as easy as the corsa b which is what I drive. LOL
