I decided to change the stereo in my Fiorino as the quality of handfree calls on the blue & me is awful so I fitted a Kenwood DAB unit with built in handsfree that we used to have in our old Mini.

As I wanted to keep the steering wheel controls I bought a Connects 2 CTSFA004.2 steering wheel control interface from Dynamic Sounds. It's a great bit of kit because as well as making the steering wheel controls work it also does away with the need to run a lead from the power socket to the stereo to overcome the lack of an ignition fed live. :)

Oh and if you upgrade your stereo to a head unit with built in bluetooth hands remember to unpair the blue and me from your phone before you start the install.

Thanks good to know the steering wheel controls adapter works.

Is that the original plastic trim around the new headunit? ill have to take a closer look and see if it detracts from original headunit :).

Any ideas for where to route cables down the back behind the headunit, for aux and subwoofer?

No, I bought the plastic trim online.

The original surround is integral with the factory head unit. If you’re routing cables behind I’ll warn you there are some hidden sharp edges behind the dashboard. I cut myself whilst routing the hands free mic cable from the head unit to the cover over the top of the steering column.

Thank you for the reply.

i found the keyword for searching is "Fascia".
i forget but i think they may also be on https://www.aliexpress.com too.

i need to see how the call quality is. i know turning up the volume the noise floor becomes noticeable :(. i guess if i upgrade the speakers, then i may well upgrade the headunit too... hmm hmm

currently patching in aux + subwoofer via the blueme audio input into headunit. thinking of using a passive resistor or diy audio isolator transformer mixer. not sure. hard to find a small half decent active mixer module.
