Technical Steering noise, strange.

I can hear a strange noise when turning, its like a creaking, deep noise.

can't feel it, but can sorta feel it if i hold the brake when turning but not sure if its that issue, as you shouldn't do this.

Seems to be on the near side. Car drives fine, can't hear anything once driving, only at a standing as the road noise is too much. only happens at one full turn either way.

Solved.

After lots of troubleshooting and getting people to turn the steering as i found the issues. turns out my offside spring is sticking when the wheel is turning, and the energy stored up makes it sound so much worse than it is when the spring lets go, it literally only a few mm's travel but as its a spring sounds so much worse. oiled up the connecting point and hoping to rectify it. Otherside is fine, compared both. Spring is in good condition, just sticking when turning at the joint. No major issue.

I'm not entirely sure where it's sticking, I'm just glad I've found its not a serious noise and its just a built up force.
Basically when the wheels turn, the springs turn with them too, for some reason the spring is sticking when the wheel turns the releases. it's such a small amount. so just need to diagnose where.

I suspect the bearing at the very top( fixed against car's inner wing)

is a bit sticky,
common'ish problem..,

here's a picture or 2 from a panda..to give you an idea..,






but do have a proper look.. to make sure it's not a broken spring..!! out of warranty now I suppose..??

Yup, went out in september. Yeah sounds the same. Yup springs are fine, checked either side, i dont think its a serious problem? is it?! haha
