Technical Steering makings noise when turning to full lock

when i fully lock my steering to the right it makes a sound, and the sound it makes sounds like chewbacca from starwars lol...
anyone any ideas what it could be? the steering is electrical so it couldnt be a low fluid problem...

Yes it could be low on fluid give that a check and in the mean time go easy on the steering when parking etc, could be on it's way out. it's happened to me before, the loud noise and then BANG! took the steering rack out, aswell as the pump cost me £100's. Get someone to have a look at it before the problem turns into a big problem.

tony, if its a mk2 then it doesnt take steering fluid as its electric, so your right. as for the noise, mine makes it a little on full lock, its my wheels that rub off the arches, ive heard it on loads of different cars not just puntos.

it doesnt sound like a wheel rubbing noise tho.. its sounds like a mechanical type of noise.. only way i can describe the noise is the way chewbacca from starwars speaks lol
