Odd one. I heard an almighty bang underneath the car the other day whilst driving. Looked in my rearview mirror expecting to see a lump of pothole tumbling down the road after me but I didn't see anything. The car seemed to be driving fine after that so I assumed I missed the stone I hit.

Except I now suspect I didn't hit anything. I'm getting an odd thing happening on the steering. I'll be going along straight & the car will start to drift to the left. I correct it & it carries on fine. I notice it under braking occasionally too. There's no odd noises from anywhere & I've had a quick visual check of the linkages to the wheels. It all seems ok other that what I already know about - i.e. the subframe is rotten & the passenger side wishbone needs replacing. These will be taken care of for its MOT - due on the 28th March.

The car is already booked into my mechanic this Saturday morning in preparation for its MOT so he'll know doubt find the problem. I'm impatient though & wondered if anyone has any ideas.

Seems it was my lovely rusty subframe that finally gave up the ghost & gave up a fixing to the NSF wheel.

I already ave the replacement from a local breakers all cleaned up & ready for replacing. Now on to the MOT. I'll hear about that this week.
