Technical Steering column Switches

Hi all, I have a question with regards to the 2 steering column switches, I know one is for the signal lights but is the other one for wipers or for headlight beam adjustment? in my case its for wipers but was told this is for headlights, can someone please let me know the true story?

Hi Shanil

The second (longer) lever is for the lights.

In position one (uppermost) just the parking lights should be on.

In position two (centre) dipped headlights should come on.

In position three (lowest) main beam headlights should be on.

If yours is operating the wipers it sounds like yet another unusual modification!

Hi Oopsadaisy when you say parking lights come on when you move the lever up, how do you switch the lights off as center is for the dip and last position down is for the head?

There should be a switch on the dash that is a 'master' switch for the lights.

On our car there are three switches, the one on the left turns on the panel lights, the middle on turns on the parking lights (when the column switch is in the uppermost position) and the third one turns on the wipers.

what do the 2 red lights on the left of the dashboard mean? one has a g on it... (left hand drive) cheers! x

G = Generatore - generator or dynamo!

Should go out after engine starts, but may flicker at idle speed.
