Hi,

It was particularly cold & wet in sunny Lancashire this morning for a change (~2°C). I set the climate control to 22 in auto mode (air-con on) but still had steamy windows on the drivers side. I though that the air con would demist the windows but it wasn't until the outside temp rose that everything became clear.

Just wondered - in your experience is it the dehumidifier in 100HP's that isn't much cop (I've only just got it so this was the first really cold morning) or just my own little red fiat that can't cope with the heat from my bald head?

In those conditions I set the airflow manually to the screen and the footwell. This takes it off Auto but the temp and fan are still regulated. "Auto" just sets it on the screen when the engine is cold and switches it to the footwell when the engine warms up.

You have the demist button for this sort of thing, it puts the fan on to the glass on full with air con and heater on. It should only take a minute or so to clear I've found.

Setting the temp higher on climate control will not make it heat up any quicker.

HAHA! look at you people with your money and aircon!

i get the steamy windows exactly as you describe but alas cannot afford aircon due to my age of 19.

with my manual switches i usually have the setting on footwell/windows (or it could be face/windows i cant remember)

anyone else shocked at how quick the panda warms up?

mines only the 1.1 but it heats up dead quick

My 1.2 is beginning to warm up quicker now the weather is improving, mind you I still need to do around 4 miles before I reach full temp at this time of year.

And my dynamic does not have A/C or a sunroof - come summer (all 2 weeks of it) I know how sunday roast feels !!!

lol last summer before the panda arrived i had a 1.1 rover 100 where the radiator fins were half gone. the fan switch only worked on the highest setting so i had the heater blower on full blast to keep the engine cool and as a result i was able to cook eggs, steaks, HELL an entire cow on my face due to the heat haha

fixed that though with a brand new rad for a tenner would you beleive

Well a 1.1 litre engine is tiny really so it would warm up a lot quicker than bigger engines. It's also probably got a relatively small water jacket which would help warm up times too.

my r100 was a 1.1 but i could be driving for 10-15mins before the needle had moved off the stop
