starting problems

hi, ive a 04 stilo 1.4 16v, and just recently ive had problems starting it , the starter motor turns great no loss of battery power ( no diming headlights ) no error messages on the readout but it just wont fire . Im no mech but it seems like the fuel isnt getting to it ...........? when! and it does everynow and again ,fire first time its fine no loss of power whilst traveling or performance, it runs great but u park up and go shopping then when u come out it just turns over but wont fire ?????????????? any ideas?
