Hello.
New member.
Bought my 2015 '500 car a few months ago.
Just started having the known issue with P0101 and P0106, MAP sensore codes and relatable issues.

Have posted my current situation on the thread in the above link.

Other than this issue I like the car very muc.
My 43rd car...... I think.....
I'm a bike fanatic too.

This is classic symptoms of battery failing. Get this checked first. If the battery is over 3 years old better to be prepared. Its not easy to determine battery condition when this starts so a decent battery specialist (Not Halfords etc)
This is the cheap option hence start with this before moving on. Some 500s have dodgy earth cables from gearbox to body. An earth with a plastic outer sleeve seems to be the problem type. They can rot through inside the plastic sleeve. Look under the battery tray.

My car is a Ford Ka 1.2 Eco start/stop but I joined this forum as I found nothing Ford Ka relating for my cars issue when searching the internet.
The dealer has replaced the map sensor anyway and checked the evap solenoid which was working fine.
We did a battery check and the one fitted is a Halfords type. The tester showed it was good but not the best. 54% healthy. It was charging and cranking ok.
However, if the issue is not resolved following the above then a new start stop battery will be sourced.
The dealer said he can get me one at cost whichever I choose and then he can fit it for me and run the new scan on it to set it up properly.

Pandas and 500s require no battery setting up, so Im not sure why a Ka would... Do have a poke a round on here as there are other potential causes. 54% doesnt sound healthy. Can you get the date off the battery I think it should be on the case somewhere. If you try a few key words on teh search box its not heard to find other threads that may help you. I hope its resolved soon.

I will have a check for the battery date when it stops raining here. 👍
The setting up was part of the stop start recognition I think I remember him saying.
He did say that the set up will work itself out but takes a longer period of time for the ecu to work?
I will definitely be searching out the forum for information if the map sensor replacement and battery replacement do not resolve the issue.

I think thats not the case and someome has a giraffe.

I check the date on my battery and it’s showing January 2023. Halfords brand.
Not yet had a repeat of the warning lights and eml since replacing the map sensor but then again I haven’t yet come to a stop for more than 10 seconds or so when it would normally fail.
Battery will be next item to replace though.

My car issues are now resolved.
After we replaced the MAP sensor under warranty, the issues did not go away.
A battery health check revealed the Halfords battery was almost 3 years old and had 54% life left. It was cranking and charging ok but not in the best health.
So I purchased a new battery via the garage out of my own purse although this still did not cure the issues.

So back to the garage again (who were brilliant and very helpful). They did a smoke test and found that smoke was emitting from a bad seal around the airbox/throttle body connection. That was replaced. The evap solenoid (previously tested as working) was actually faulty and the seal was poor.
So the solenoid was replaced by the garage at no cost to me.
Since then, the issues have cleared and I am enjoying trouble free motoring (for now).

These 1.2 engines are thirsty little units. £20 fuel doesn't go that far with 53/54mpg the best I can get.
Ah well.
