that sensor is very important, if the gap is wrong, or there is dirt on it, or the phase of the moon is wrong then it won't start.

make sure it is fitted properly, if the gap is wrong between it and the pulley then it won't work either.

i've never worked on the 899cc engine, but i assume it has the same locating nipple on the back of that pulley you can see there. did you pay attention to that when you refitted it? If not, then the timing won't be right so even if the sensor was working - it won't start.

Have solved the problem. There is no air getting to the engine. Found the gunky oily residue blocking up one of the tubes.

Which pipe was it? Couldn't have been the main intake, that'd be crazy! Glad you sorted it though :)

Off Topic, nut how long has it stood for the discs to get so corroded? Live by the sea? When mine rusted up after a few weeks of standing, i had to replace them as they were beyond economical repair, and a few rounds of heavy braking was doing nothing to them.

I live at least 20 miles from the coast. I was hoping someone would mention it like since it didn't look too healthy. It has been standing about 2 or 3 weeks and a few days with the wheel off.

Not the main intake, the smaller pipe adjacent to it.

I don't know 899cc at all....but i would imagine thats the crank case breather? Supprised it didn't run with that blocked :S

You may find with those discs, that you get terrible pedal judder. You may be able to clean then up with a brass brush on a drill, but for £10-£20 it may be best to replace the discs......however, it may LOOK much worse that it actually is.

i think i will just replace them mate since i get paid tomorrow. do i just replace the front two? Pads and all?

i've no idea what it is to be honest and i could have gotten the pipes mixed up in the pic but my neighbour sorted it so all is well.
