Hi there all,

I'm a newbie to the Fiat Forum but I currently have a serious problem with my 1996 Fiat Ducato 2.5 TD diesel motorhome - it won't start. The code light comes on when the ignition is turned on but it should go out after a few moments. The AA took it to a Fiat garage for me, Arnold Clarks of Paisley. The mechanic told me that when it arrived via AA breakdown he tried to start it and it DID start. He tried several times and it always started. When I suggested that I would collect it he did suggest that I replace the code box as this was probably the problem. I had this fitted and took the vehicle home where it is parked in my driveway. A few days later I went to start the engine and the fault manifested itself again. The code light came on and didn't go out. Again the AA was called. They had a look at the wires where they enter the control box. The engine started. It started every time over a period of 15 minutes. Then when left for a few hours the problem again appeared. This time we discovered that when the ignition is switched on and the code light does not go out you turn the key off very quickly then turn it on equally rapidly. This way the code light goes out and you can start the engine. This worked for about an hour and we thought that we had solved the starting problem. A few days later we tried this method again - it doesn't work. I have a major problem my motorhome won't go. Has anyone else had a similiar problem and was it resolved?
