Technical starter problem?

Yo peeps,

I could hear the starter spinning and not engaging the fly wheel ....

Any tips in getting this fixed without changing it ?

i'll got one, but just being lazy

Could be a stuck pinion, but to clean it you'll have to remove the starter motor (unless you want to try hitting it wiv an 'ammer).

lol just hit it anywhere on the starter?????

N/m, rocked the car freed it up, but it would stop working right away.

So just changed it and i have greased up the pin.

Argh! Usually grease is a bad idea -- it collects the muck from the clutch wwhich makes it stick. Such is life, see how it goes.........

The old one i took out the pin is all rusty .

Hi Ming

Grease may attract crud like magnet.

But you need the mini sump shield that some cars have retained, makes a difference to the alternator end, may help the starter a bit. Blocking off more of the front plastic fins may help a bit as well.
