General start of the abarth rebuild/1.4 16v conversion

gotta admit, never seen a good powerflow system.. i have one sat in my front room, not got proper mandrel bends in it and the welds are not neat at all.

My van came with a full powerflow system, from completely different part of country so prob from a different powerflow garage and that don't have proper mandrels either, also has messy welds and on top on that the pipe is crushed slightly on a few of the bends where they have just tried to heat it up and bend it and failed badly, and yet they felt it ok to leave it like that..

Would defo not recommend them to anyone tbh.

never had any problems wih powerflow and at £20 for a full stainless system i aint complaining then again im running stock system with Janspeed backbox so im hardly running the best system in the world, gonna have my mate make up ful system for me soon, full front to back with nothing but a backbox

Yesterday at work had a quiet period so thought lets rip the old 6 speed box apart and see what damage had occured inside and when i took it apart this is what ended up on the floor in the oil im not going to bother getting it rebuilt as there are 8 teeth missing off 3 gears so its going in the bin

Nice work mate, i cant wait to see the car......... really makes me wanna go out and tear into mine, but at the moment i need to use it as its my daily.

I have now got a couple of bits gathered together that ive been after and the first item is another yellow front bumper so i can get rid of the black one as i hate it :yuck: also got a pair of sporting headlights and have now removed the angel eyes as 1 side had a cracked lens and the other side the halo had fallen down and now ive put standard lights back in i dont know if im going to bother doing it to these lights
also got the correct temperature sender and now the guage on the dash works again now the only thing that doesnt work is the speedo but i know where the problem lies.....need the correct cable as the one i got has a totally different end hence why i have no speedo its not gripping the cable anybody got one for sale????
got another roof lining so i can recover it in black to match the door cards plus a few other odds and sods and all from cinquecento painter cheers steve much appreciated

I'd say leave the headlights oem, was my least favourite thing on the car personally..

Yea I second that about the headlights although I did like the yellow headlights and the black bit on the front bumper will be interesting to see which looks better

Andy, your totally welcome mate !! It was great to finally put a face to the name and i look forward to hooking up again................ i do know a guy that has a speedo cable ......... shall i bring it with me to the show ?

By the way........... ive started to look for a donor car for an engine swap........ my poor ol Cinq, just doesnt seem fast enough anymore..

Just a quick update as ive been so busy at work aint had much time to do my own bits but managed to make a start on the front bumper chopping it about ready to fit the abarth bumper part also managed to get the passenger side mouth put in and its been left over the weekend at work waiting for the tiger seal to set and im hoping for a quiet day to get it finished off on monday
also a quick pic with the oem headlights in....which do you guys thinks looks better the angel eyes or oem i think oem
