Yes, but there are polybush replacements out there. May be worthwhile emailing AVO. Or you can buy polyurethane bar, stick it in the freezer, and machine it.

At 5 years, they're probably gonners anyway, but will AVO rebuild?

AVO are good shox just with 1 design fault and thats the fact that the adjusters are on the side of the shox and get all the carp round them and they kept on seizing up whereas the spax adjs have them on the back face so not in direct fire of all the road carp (y)(y)
the poly bushes are still in perfect condition so going to reuse on the spax as i have googled for rear shox bushes and get sod all for cinq/sei :bang:

Time to go and have a play with the new thermostat that will hopefully work on the cinq and will then take a temp reading from the block side of things rather than just from the top rad hose.(y)
had to find some bits to use to block off the unused channels but only time will tell if all will be good;)
will report back once its done with pics:yum:

Ok the thermostat is on the cinq and system all bled up again and no leaks anywhere from any of the blocked of channels :D but the dash gauge still doesnt work:confused: i have the grey/white off the punto loom connected to the green/white on the cinq d4 which i believe is correct so does anyone have any other suggestions??? it has a brand new sensor in there but i have a feeling it is the wrong one even though it was ordered by registration number:bang:

This clearly shows the dash gauge is not working compared to the other gauge and the wire i have connected to the d4:confused:

What happens when you ground the wire that's meant to go on the sender? The gauge should hit the roof. This should help in tracing the fault.

I have just been out and earthed the wire and dash gauge does go thru the roof(y)so im thinking even more they have given me the wrong sender.IIRC you can take the spi temp sender out the head using a deep 13mm socket whereas this is a 22mm to get it out and im sure the thread wasnt as coarse nor as bigger diameter:confused:

Over the last few days ive been remaking my front section of exhaust going from the supersprint manifold over the arb as i only had about 4 maybe 5mm clearance and was getting the odd knock from it :bang: but i was still using a bit of pipe from the old 8v engine but now i have an exhaust of correct diameter and the correct angles:D:D did it on the cheap as cash a bit short since finishing the conversion;) so into work came an old volvo 760 tub and the angles on the pipes were perfect and all that was wrong with it was the boxes had rotted out but pipework was good (y)(y) so 2 hours later mine is on the ramp and being played with....the result well im very happy now with the clearance as per the pics.:D:D

Road trip tomorrow and it will be the longest run completed, checked everything over at work today and all seems fine so roll on 5.30am to go and collect a windscreen from a chap in rugby as i never got up there a few weeks ago and then onto meet 288gto and get a yellow bonnet off him to replace my knackered one and then half hour up the road to meet up with whitz and his cinq(y)(y)
Looking forward to the early start as no traffic on the M1 so will have a nice easy flow thru the average 50mph section though you can get away with 60:D and i think if this trip goes without hitch i would happily drive it anywhere and will consider the conversion a success(y):D

Hope the bonnet serves you well mate :)

Thanks for the ride in your race-spec Cinq :D that car is no joke, 7500rpm in seconds!! Mega impressive!! I could still hear it a mile down the road :D

Well 300 miles and 9 hours later and got back home and not a single problem and i averaged 39.31mpg on the journey at motorway speeds plus a bit more:D:D cant fault the conversion in anyway and i would now drive it anywhere and consider it a 100% success so now its time to get the bodywork sorted and i got the bonnet today off 288gto and as can be seen he enjoyed the spin round the block and he couldnt believe how quick it was:D:D and then had a visit to whitz in telford and then back home........so happy with it:D:D:D

Finally i found a centre silencer at work that was a perfect fit and it has had the required effect of getting rid of some of the noise from inside the car as i wasnt going to pay £45 for a cherry bomb and i have used a renault clio mid section which has the same size box as the bomb i would of bought, now im just ashamed of using a renault part on my cinq:cry::cry: but if it does the job who cares:rolleyes:
