PRT/03 is a map sensor only, no air temp

Most punto's have the PRT/05 which is a combined air and map.

Maybe why you have an air temp failure.

For info mmcompsys has a few Magnetti Marelli pdf's and you can find them floating around on the net as well.

Unsure about the stepper at the moment.....will have to put my thinking hat on

Cheers for that kristian ive just been and got a PRT05/A so now going to pop that on and see if that helps eliminate 1 of the problems i have

Still exactly the same not the slightest difference so im going to send it to an auto electrician before i screw something up and set things back further i just dont know where to start what to do as this side of cars is way too far above me and nothing seems to sink in:bang::bang::bang: the wiring has beaten me

Already disconnected mate did that as soon as id finished the video........well it was "a new set up" for that attempt

Really no need to disconnect the ECU, though using the tester to clear the errors would be a good idea.

Congrats!!! I was unsure if I should give a like or dislike (for a lame mistake), but then after all you went through you do not deserve a dislike I would only like to point you to the role of the tester in your endavour, you connected it yesterday, now it's running

Now you should give it a good warmup and give it a nice long mid-load drive to get the ECU to know the engine

Excellent....just make sure you get it mapped, or at least monitor the lambda on it, to make sure it's not running too lean or rich.

High idle may be down to a leak, or may settle down once warmed up. The fuelling or ignition timing also have a massive effect on idle so double check all that.

Brilliant though, such a silly mistake, but at least you figured it all out! :slayer:

I will be having it remapped asap and also i do have a vacuum pipe that i havent checked yet in haynes manual as it to what/where it goes,i have 1 on the front of the inlet for the evap solenoid and 1 on either side of the map sensor 1 of those is for the fuel regulator but the other??? time for some more research and could be cause of slightly high tickover too tired now after the last 3 days now off to bed and get up with a fresh clear head and get the bloody thing finished!!!! then got to start on the punto well finish off the welding and put the stereo in for the mrs...keep her quiet
