General Standard ELM or modified?

I need to reset annoying service and I got the KKL and all coloured cables but apparently I need ELM to access the service menu?!
Does any one know if standard elm327 will do the job or I need the modified version?
Standard elm is less than half price of the modified 1?

The modification consists of removing one resistor, so should not cost twice as much. You may be looking at FoRD ELMConfig leads, not what you need. A quick ebay search came up with item 271566507924 (never dealt with them), and 30162684958 (bought from them, no issues). You should not need an adaptor to reset the service light, but check the site of the software you use to make sure.
The unmodified units may or may not work depending on what module you are connecting to and the wiring in your car.
