Hi All, new to this forum, and need some help! My daughter has a Fiat Grande Punto 2010, 1.4. A few weeks ago, her car wouldn't start and was coming up with No FPS on the dashboard. After googling this we ascertained that it was something to do with the Fire Prevention System and assumed that we needed to find the reset button. After unsuccessfully finding the button, and trying the indicator trick, we ended up getting the car towed to our local garage. The car was tested and a few fault codes for fuel pump came up but no fault was found with the fuel pump. The car is now starting again, but when left idle, it is cutting out and restarting again straight away. It is also cutting out when she is driving it, but it restarts instantly. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?? Thanks in advance.

Do you know what type of diagnostic tool was used by the garage? Was it fiat specific?..these cars are kinda fussy on working,or not with generic tools...

Hi. And welcome. :)

Years ago when I had a wornout fuel pump..it exibited similar symptoms.. stumbling to a stop.. but would restart instantly.

The FPS is supposed to cut the fuel supply.. so may well be related.

Look at the SEARCH facility here on FF.

The punto section is relatively quiet.. the 500 has almost identical technology.. so may have more info.

Member typecastboy may well be the best practiced at resetting the FPS kit.
