General squeak from rear of car when reversing think its the brakes

hi own a grande punto sporting. when reversing with a little lock on getting an awful squeak from rear brakes. brakes work fine otherwise.

Isn't there a damper kit that fiat can install? It's supposed to stop the 'whining' when reversing. I've also heard about some chemical spray on the discs :/ not that I will be trying that one

Not sure about that but you can put copper or silver grease on the back of the pads to help prevent this squealing noise.

no its means there is an 'issue'!

Shaun, take it to a garage is the best advice we can give here unless your happy to investigate and fix it yourself.

Well yeah, I generally use copper grease, although that stops the sqeeking under braking due to limiting vibration. But isn't this particular problem due to the resonance of the rear end of the car. I know mine gets loud as hell if I reverse and gently touch the brakes.
